A full account of ACCLAD's annual activities, class composition, institutional partnerships, and the scope of impact delivered by our honoree community.
The 2024 class brought ACCLAD past the 1,000 cumulative honoree milestone — a landmark representing over a decade of rigorous, independent global recognition. The class spanned all eight categories, with particular strength in Health & Medicine and Climate & Environment.
The annual Recognition Ceremony was hosted in Nairobi, Kenya — marking the first time the ceremony was held in sub-Saharan Africa. Over 200 guests attended, representing 32 nations and eight institutional partners.
In 2024, ACCLAD's Secretariat received 3,400+ nominations from 118 countries, the largest volume in the organisation's history. The Global Council reviewed 340 qualifying submissions in final deliberation.
The 2026 nomination window is open, with submissions accepted through 31 October 2026. The Class of 2026 Recognition Ceremony host city will be announced in September 2025.
ACCLAD is expanding its advocacy programme in 2025–26, with three honorees confirmed to present at United Nations forums and two participating in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
The Secretariat is also developing an expanded digital archive, providing public access to honoree profiles, citations, and multimedia documentation dating back to the inaugural 2016 class.
